Prediction: The term “attraction marketing,” novel as it sounds today, will evolve into mainstream marketing over the next 10 years. Then we’ll refer to it as “marketing.”

Currently the essential difference between attraction marketing and mainstream marketing is this: attraction marketing isn’t about what you do. It’s about who you are – eternal, abundant and richly successful.

I call the traditional style of marketing (what most of us grew up with) old power marketing. Its essence is doing – or, more precisely, manipulating.

If you’ve ever watched a “Mad Men” episode, you’ve seen old power marketing in action.

The question asked in old power marketing is: how do we dominate this market, drive the consumer to buy, and decimate the competition? It’s all about victory through force: do more, spend more, conquer.

Over the past decade, business has quietly evolved toward attraction marketing. I’ve also called it Soul Power Marketing™. The shift is a natural outgrowth of our collective awakening to spiritual laws such as the Law of Attraction – as they apply to the world of business.

The question asked in attraction-based Soul Power Marketing is: how can I offer the best of who I am to others so they may be naturally attracted to it?

True attraction marketing embraces the fullness of who we are  including the eternal non-physical part of us we sometimes call our soul or inner being.

True attraction marketing seeks authentic connections between our soul and the souls of those we can best serve. It recognizes the Law of Attraction principle that what manifests in our physical world originated in the non-physical first.

Attraction marketing, based on spiritual law and soul connection, expresses the evolutionary direction of the universe. That’s why it’s rapidly outpacing manipulative old power marketing in effectiveness.

Consumers find the old threat tactics increasingly distasteful – and tune them out.

If you’re a network marketer, for example, you know that prospects today are hyper-sensitive to manipulation. If they think you’re just in it to get their money, they evaporate faster than a drop of water on a hot skillet.

How to know if you have the soul of an attraction marketer

If you’re an entrepreneur – whether new or experienced – and you have a deep-seated visceral dislike of traditionally manipulative marketing and sales, don’t assume you aren’t cut out for business.

These days, it more likely indicates you were born to lead in the transition from old power to Soul Power Marketing.

Leading a cultural transition isn’t easy. Until you realize the bigger plan that you’re part of – and you tap into true support for yourself as a spiritual entrepreneur.

The next time you’re tempted to think that you’re just not a good match to the aggressive world of business, stop.
