No One Orders a Dessert They Don’t Like

When I first published this Law of Attraction article in 2006, it brought so many comments that I reprint it every other year…
When you order dessert at a restaurant, you always choose something that tastes good. While you might skip the whipped cream to save some calories, you’d never order the strawberry-rhubarb pie unless you like it.
Why, then, do you keep ordering what you don’t like from the Menu of the Universe?
Each person and circumstance in your life — no matter how uncomfortable — shows up because you ordered it through your vibration, and Law of Attraction had no choice but to deliver it.
The reason you may not believe me is this: you aren’t consciously aware of what you’re ordering. Few people are.
It’s not always easy to accept that we’re vibrational matches to what we clearly do not want. But the more we protest, “I don’t know why this keeps happening to me,” the more vibrationally bound we are to what we dislike.
Here’s the good news: no matter how stuck you feel, there’s a way to freedom. It’s called: accepting what is.
If you can accept that whatever is in your life right now is a vibrational match to your thoughts and expectations, you’ve made a huge first step. You can now use the circumstances you don’t like as springboards to something better.
Note: Accepting the vibrational match is not about blaming yourself. There’s no benefit whatsoever to self-condemnation.
What I’m suggesting is a simple shift. You stop insisting that whatever upsets you “shouldn’t” be in your life. (When you insist, you resist.)
You accept that universal laws are inescapable. And you accept that you and your situation must be a match. Which doesn’t mean it has to stay that way.
You might say: “Even though I don’t know how this vibrational match happened, and I have no idea what to do about it right this minute, I believe that I live in an attraction-based universe. Therefore, whatever is in my life must be a match to my vibration. I can accept this.”
Acceptance is a way of pausing, clearing the slate, and starting afresh. What a relief to end the battle against what is.
Once you accept, you can feel your inner power returning. Hint: when power returns, it feels like relief.
Why relief? Well… you were using all your energy to rail against the stale oatmeal cookies. It was exhausting. When you finally accepted that you must have been a vibrational match to oatmeal, you stopped resisting reality.
According to Abraham-Hicks, when we stop resisting, our natural life force returns. What we call “relief” is the sensation of life force flowing freely through us again.
Savor the relief. Allow life force energy to refresh you and stimulate new choices.
Then confidently place an order for your most favorite dessert on the Menu of the Universe.

This is really cool! I Think we all go through life searching for the meaning of life. Where as there really is no meaning, it is learning who we are and what we are suppose to do.
Love the cookie metaphor. I’d like some Mrs. Fields gooey chocolate chips cookies please.
