Do You Deserve Success? A Law of Attraction Coach Speaks
When I work with spiritual entrepreneurs as their Law of Attraction coach, they nearly always tell me, ”I guess I just have a core belief that I don’t really deserve success.”
If you resonate with this idea of a core belief that “I don’t deserve ______” (success/love/my ideal weight/money/whatever), pay close attention to the next sentence.
Law of Attraction never has and never will demand that you “deserve” success before you can receive it.
Or, as Abraham-Hicks might say: “We don’t know where you get these screwy ideas.”
If you’ve been operating from an “I don’t deserve” belief, here are a few observations I can share, based on my experience as a Law of Attraction coach working with many hundreds of spiritual entrepreneurs.
#1 – 99.9% of us share the notion of a core belief that we don’t deserve x, y, or z. Why? Apparently it comes with the experience of being human.
#2 – Most of us formed this core belief when we were very young, usually younger than 5 years old. It happened when our parents said something that made our tender young spirits cringe. Such as “Keep quiet and don’t say another word until you’re spoken to. You’re a very bad girl.”
#3 – In those moments, most of us decided there was something truly wrong with us. We decided that not because it has any basis in truth but because we were two yearst old, and our parents, who meant the world to us, told us we were flawed.
#4 – Over time most of us internalize the criticisms and lackful statements we heard most often from our parents, older siblings and other authorities. “You’re not good at math.” “You’re clumsy.” It becomes habitual to think we have certain innate flaws. (This is why you can be haunted by parental criticisms even if you left home decades ago.)
Here is the good news.
No matter how flawed, guilty or even ashamed you feel about your alleged shortcomings, you’re no longer a young child.
So you no longer have to believe what your 1-year old or 3-year-old self decided to believe.
The idea that we can choose which beliefs to keep and which to discard may seem odd to you, but the freedom to do so is our ultimate birthright from our “true parent,” spirit.
If you didn’t have the innate ability to discard beliefs that no longer work for you, you might still believe that you can’t cross busy streets alone or that your teddy bear cries unless you carry him to school with you.
It’s totally natural to let go of worn-out beliefs. We expect children to do this. Why should this natural ability end at some arbitrary age? We’re all eternally evolving and expanding.
Therefore: you can right now decide to let go of the belief that you have to “deserve” success.
The universe bestows all manner of blessings on all of us equally, all the time. Law of Attraction isn’t a big Judge in the sky. It’s a completely neutral feedback system designed by our creator to reflect our beliefs and expectations back to us with complete precision.
The Law of Attraction feedback system isn’t designed to withhold or punish. It’s designed to show us how we’re using (or mis-using) our power to create what we desire.
As we experience feedback from the universe, we’re free to continue or change our habits of thought, word or deed.
It’s time to free yourself from the self-imposed prison that you have to prove your deservability before you can receive.
You, spirit in a temporary physical form, were born deserving. You were born knowing that your desires are the avenue through which the universe expands – and that you’re meant to see them fulfilled.
(That’s why thwarted desire feels so awful. The idea that you can’t have what you want goes completely against what your inner being knows to be true.)
Right now I invite you to accept that you have the power to reject any beliefs that no longer serve you. You don’t need decades of therapy to accomplish this. You don’t need a guru or special processes designed by experts.
You, spirit in a temporary physical form, have the ability to free yourself from the prison created by early childhood decisions that have no relevance for you today.
You, spirit in a temporary physical form, can declare: I now choose which beliefs work for me and which don’t. I bless the beliefs that work for me and pay no more attention to the beliefs that don’t work. I am free.
What if the old belief returns? Don’t make it a big deal or an excuse to feel bad. Just remind yourself: I am free. And choose again.

I’ ve just had my computer fixed after having some problems for a couple of weeks. Go on Andrea it has started being very interesting.
Andrea,
This post on Facebook couldn’t have come at a better time (then again we know the Universe is always right on time).
I absolutely love your teachings and insights. I’m so glad I came across your website a couple of years ago.
Thank you and wishing you continued success and happiness.

http://eleanoroliver.myarbonne.comTThanks for explaining the origin of some of those limiting beliefs that seem to follow us like a shadow, Andrea. I feel like I’ve been trying to drive with my foot on the brake.
I love your reminder that we are free, and that we can free ourselves from the voices of our past. Too often those voices seem to be denying our freedom rather than encouraging it.
After reading this post, I feel I have the courage to move on into a more liberated present, rather than sitting in a self-imposed jail cell of negative self-talk. I can swing open those jail doors any time and walk right out. How refreshing!
http://www.stayhomecollege.comThanks to all of you for these appreciative and perceptive comments. As Byron Katie and others teach: we can question our self talk, and if it’s causing us pain, we don’t have to believe our own old stories!
http://www.andreaconway.comOnce again Andrea, absolutely profound information. Thank you so much!
