Getting into the Vortex is the latest book by Esther and Jerry Hicks and Abraham. They refer to it as a “User Guide” with a “Guided Meditations CD.”

In my 22 years of studying the Law of Attraction primarily through Abraham, I’ve been mostly drawn to the CDs of  live workshops and to the workshops themselves. Not to the books.

To me the workshop tapes, CDs and DVDs seem fresher because of the real-time interaction between us and Abraham, as translated by Esther Hicks.

Tonight, while packing for our hiking trip, I listened to an Abraham Hicks CD where Abe talks about “vibrational marketing.”

The CD explained where many of us go off course in our marketing, including me!

As a Law of Attraction coach I often tell my clients we need to market in order to make it easy for the universe to send us customers and income.

In my studies of the Law of Attraction since 1989, nothing has annoyed me more than the idea that life is designed to be effortless.  I don’t doubt that when we’re 100% aligned with spirit and the Law of Attraction, life IS effortless.

The only problem is: very few of us experience 100% alignment.

As a Law of Attraction coach, helping my small business entrepreneur clients move past the fantasy of effortlessness is often our primary task. Once you understand that it takes WORK to move from where you are now to where you want to be, change happens quickly.

Imagine my relief to hear Abraham address the question: “What is effort?” on a recent workshop CD.

When people first learn about the Law of Attraction and the power they have to attract what they want, they often expect instant results. And rarely get them.

Not because the universe can’t deliver miracles. But because deliberate creation involves a learning curve.

Let’s say you’re so totally done with cheapskate clients who take you for granted. Your new desire is to work with customers who appreciate you, respect you, and pay you well. When you ask, it’s given: the universe says yes immediately.

The next steps are up to you.

We live in a a universe of contrasts – what we don’t want gives birth to what we do want. Because of contrast, your experience with wrong customers launched a new desire for the right ones.

Patently obvious: we’re living in abundantly high-contrast times. As we evolve toward a one-world consciousness,  we experience multiple disasters daily.

How can we stay focused on what we want, when our empathetic minds and hearts naturally take in the pain all around us? Here’s a new Abraham-Hicks process to the rescue: “feel forward.”

Managing our feelings is the key to managing our Law of Attraction vibration. But sometimes when people first learn about Law of Attraction they think it’s a license to shut out suffering, whether their own or others’. “I’ll be positive and happy all the time, that way I will get everything I want.”

However: no one can feel positive and happy all the time – because the universe was designed to evolve through contrast.

When positive thinking doesn’t keep them safe and happy, some people decide “Law of Attraction doesn’t work.” But others resolve to study LoA more deeply, until they master how to cooperate with it.

As spiritual entrepreneurs with a deep desire to better the world, we’re often the ones going for mastery. Continue Reading »
