Here’s a sneak peek at Habit #7:
Question your painful thoughts

Nearly all of us automatically believe what we think. Even the thoughts that pain us.

Such as: “I can’t give up the job I hate and still pay the bills.” “I can’t ask my spouse/kids to help around the house more.” “I can’t let go of this fear about money.” “I can’t lose weight.” “_______ doesn’t love me.”

What if we could break free of the self-torment EASILY? The key is

… understanding how our minds were designed to work.

The ordinary mind is an automatic habit-forming mechanism. Mind is a huge help when we’re mastering a skill. But it becomes a huge hindrance when it creates habits of thought that pain us.

We get so habituated to painful thoughts that we rarely question them. They’re just “reality” to us.

Yet, just because you think something all the time doesn’t make it true.

In fact, Abraham-Hicks teaches that whenever we think something that triggers pain in us, that negative emotion is our guidance system at work. It’s telling us that our soul, or inner being, does not agree with what we’re thinking.

Take note: your soul will never align with you in pain, because your soul knows who you really are: all-loving spirit temporarily experiencing life in physical form.

Let’s challenge this crazy notion that if we think it, it must be true. Here goes…

Do you believe everything you believed when you were five years old? I hope not! How about when you were 17 years old? (At 17, I believed smoking cigarettes would make me popular.)

Consider the past 5-10 years – have your ways of thinking changed for the better? I’ll bet they have.

Perhaps you’re more willing to take a risk. Kinder. More open minded. Less quick to express anger.

There’s no Law of Attraction rule that says we have to believe our thoughts. Especially when doing so hurts.

Habit 7: Question your painful thoughts doesn’t mean fix them or change them! It doesn’t mean you magically turn them into happy thoughts.

It only means that when you notice yourself thinking a painful thought, you ask yourself whether there’s any possibility it may not be the absolute 100% truth.

That’s all you do to practice Habit #7! Questioning is enough to open up new possibilities. What could be easier?
