The Convergence Factor is  a set of near-global circumstances and events that have converged to open up enormous opportunity for even the smallest business entrepreneurs located nearly anywhere on the planet.

Elements of The Convergence Factor are: 1) mobile, inexpensive IP technology, 2) rapid spiritual awakening, and 3) an economy that’s forcing many more people to make new decisions about careers and money.

Mobile, inexpensive IP technology gives us: netbooks costing a fraction of what notebooks cost even a few years ago – with the power to access the Internet; smart phones  carry your office in a back pocket; web applications mean we don’t need all our applications on the computer; and low- or no-cost alternatives to nearly any software you use to run your business.

Rapid spiritual awakening gives us: wide-spread awareness of the Law of Attraction: today millions of us accept that we create our own reality and actively seek to cooperate with the laws of the universe.  What a trip -we’re ALL in on The Secret!

An economy that’s forcing new decisions gives us: the opportunity to evaluate and choose. To paraphrase Abraham, we’re sorting  through the contrast and making new decisions about what we prefer. Many of us are preferring freedom through  owning a business. We don’t want stifling, high-stress jobs – that’s the real reason they’re disappearing.

It’s also true this is a time of upheaval and non-stop change. The only reason that bothers us is: we’ve forgotten  we came to this earth plane as powerful creators seeking new adventures.

My  friend Mark reminds me of the irresistible desire we spiritual entrepreneurs have for freedom – and of how the Law of Attraction  always says YES!

I met Mark years ago at an Abraham-Hicks workshop in San Antonio, where we became instant life-long friends. Back then Mark’s business involved real-estate management and development in Palm Springs, but a few years ago he sold his properties. It felt freer.

Currently Mark’s on the ultimate American road trip with his dear lovely mom in their sweet darling Airstream towed by their big honkin’ truck.

So I nearly choked swallowing my decaf soy latte the wrong way when Mark’s email came through on my BlackBerry a few days ago saying he couldn’t wait for my free teleclass on Transformational Blogging.

Growing up, Labor Day was a big deal at our house. That’s partly because my mom’s mother, who lived with us, strongly identified with the labor movement.

My grandmother Libby was an independent woman for her time (she dyed her hair! she played cards for money!). She took the train to New York City every day to her job at Gimbels department store.

A staunch supporter of her labor union, Libby drilled into my brain never to cross a picket line.

And she told me stories about the early labor movement, teaching me  that workers in industrialized countries had historically been terribly oppressed. The labor movement was their means of claiming freedom and power.

Today as an entrepreneur I often feel like labor and management  rolled into one!
